"Cheeese" or not

If I say, "school picture day" do you cringe? UGH! I DO! Ohhh the arguments about my hair, bow, outfit, etc. I didn’t think I would start those battles until my child was AT LEAST 5, right? WRONG.

See, it was school picture day a few weeks back. My child woke up not feeling school picture day like I was. We battled over keeping the bow IN THE SPRIGS OF HAIR! She liked it better laying beside her car seat, while I thought it looked best on the SIDE OF HER HEAD sitting neatly in place. The nerve...

Mornings at my house are usually hectic because I give myself the PERFECT allotment of time. Which typically means NOT ONE thing can go slightly off kilter. For example, when I think EB looks irresistible and I MUST have a picture, typically that means we’ll be AT LEAST 15 minutes late. AT LEAST. So, this particular day…. You can ONLY imagine. I wanted to eat her for breakfast she was so adorable.

What? This attitude SCREAMS “sweet and loveable” to me. You don’t agree?

Ok, so you see what I got with my camera…..

Here are her REAL proofs. Much like with Santa, not sure how they managed this. While she looks startled and slightly terrified, I love them and will probably be that mom that orders WAY too many and beg people to take copies just so JB doesn’t want to eat me (not because I’m so adorable).

Don't mind that they are crooked. I'm just thankful I got them posted. I have a COMPLETE and very mutual hate/hate relationship with our Mac. I just heard you gasp. Well... I HATE IT!

Long time, no see= long post

Well, HELLO!! It’s been so long. We must start meeting more frequently. 2010 has proven thus far to be a tad…well, hairy. It all started when Jason got something terrible from EB, but finally recovered. Evie came down with a double ear infection (from a cold I blamed on him before we knew he had whatever it was he had that he technically got from her..deep breath), but when she went back for a check up, she had a clogged tube. So, they gave us one week to try and get that unclogged or they were going to redo her tubes. Thankfully we got that cured last Tuesday. Well, Wednesday we cut our day short because she had a NASTY stomach virus. She spent Thursday like this... ....I spent Thursday Lysoling every nook and cranny of our little abode because I’m terrified of the stomach virus…. (famous last words).

It was Valentine’s party eve, so I made valentines for EB’s class, but it was all for naught as we got sicker and the snow moved in. The great stomach virus of 2010 hit me like a truck on Friday. It was a fun day and I had to miss out on so much. I pulled myself together long enough to snap EB outside, but it was shortlived as I went flying into the house to..how shall I say…assume the position. I had to miss a fun surprise party for my dear sweet Sarah. Happy 30th Sarah. I wanted so badly to include a new, fun picture [RIGHT HERE]. Hope your day was special and I hope it was truly a surprise. I was SO afraid I would slip and tell you. Hence, why you never got a call back. While I died a slow death on Saturday. Evie and Jason went on a date to the SU basketball game. I slowly recovered to spend a quiet V’day with my two loves. They make my heart swell and I love them so. That tiniest Valentine tickles me to NO end and thrills my soul. She is such the handful and it cracks me up…… until I turn around and she’s climbing..correction….HAS CLIMBED a step ladder and is waving from the top step (true story that happened on Sunday). HEART ATTACK!

Little Italiano

This is the face of a gal that loves her Uncle Bill’s “Who Dat” meatballs. Too bad she has dirty blond hair, light colored eyes and pasty white skin because she LOVES anything Italian, yet doesn't quite look the part. Excuse the blur, I had to move fast and my blackberry was the handiest picture taking device in arm's reach. Let me clarify, this is a gal that loved all EIGHT/8/OCHO(!!!) meatballs that she devoured in a 5 min. timeframe!

Ladies and gentlemen…Children of ALL ages…..

It’s a circus out there! Let me give you some history… My grandparents, for as far back as I can remember, have taken me to the circus every single year. We used to go on opening night EVERY.SINGLE.YEAR. VIVID MEMORIES. I mean, I would even trek home from college to go to the circus. It was serious business. However, the last couple of years things have come up like knee surgeries, new baby, etc. It must be noted, I missed the dear ol’ circus during our absence. I got to be in the circus one year with the clowns (I’m not lying). I left that year, went STRAIGHT in and informed my dad that I knew I should join the circus. I studied it. Wrote reports on it. Read about it. Again, serious business (I should mention I was in the 4th grade). So, anyway, you see there’s a bit of history with me and the circus.

SO….. it worried JB that Great Grand Nan and GG Daddy needed to have circus memories with EB. He took it upon himself to surprise them with circus tickets for Christmas. Pretty darn thoughtful. I took my first vacation day in a whole wide year, Clay came home from school and we all carted off to the circus. Can I just say that EB was SHOCKINGLY good?! In my mind I probably wouldn’t have taken a one year old to the circus, but she was great. A little antsy at times, but really enjoyed her day. I had more fun watching her wonder and excitement than the show. She also slept for over three hours when we got home- I wonder if she had dreams of being a clown in the circus?! Just saying.
What fun [and special] memories we created. We had a ball! Thanks JB for the special gift even though you were out of town and couldn’t go. We missed you.

Workin' hard for her money

Sunday I caught EB walking from the laundromat in six feet of snow up hill both ways. TORTUROUS, I tell ya, to live at my house. What’s a girl to do, but wrap up in her tights, grab her laundry basket and start plugging way?! After all, keeping your ankle socks clean is a HARD task.
