One sunny day..
Smack dab at the beginning of February we had the most wonderful weekend weather. ‘Tis the season for us, Jason was traveling…or working…or doing something that required him to be gone. So, I took my new lens and filter (I may have googled 1. what it was and 2. how to put it on my camera…just maybe) I got for Christmas(that I hadn’t cracked the seal on), EB and Gus (problem #1) up to the top of this old dusty hill and tried my luck.
Typical for me to not know ANYTHING about what I’m about to do, but we just played, Gus explored and we went on about our business.
Towards the end, I was ready to go, tired of hollering for Gus and EB still hates my camera. So, I rallied my troops all to find Gus Black wallowing in, what I thought, was a dried up MASSIVE pond turned mud puddle. SMACK DAB IN THE MIDDLE OF IT-LOVING LIFE. He’s black…like double dipped jet black. He was now the color of a GOLDEN retriever. I would not lie to you on this blog! I’m atop a huge hill…like, way huge. The neighbors call it Big Bertha or God’s Hill..or something. I got a new car in September and he SURE wasn’t hitching a ride. EB has legs that are like 2 inches long, so she sure couldn’t walk him home with me, nor could/would I carry her 31lb self. What to do? Gus is fairly well behaved and, therefore, was unleashed, but…. I.HAD.TO.GET.HIM.HOME.
He would look like this if he were a hunting dog, don't ya think?
I popped open my trunk to leave my camera behind and the dearest husband had JUST put EB’s stroller back in the car. PRAISE THE LORD. So, we started our journey home. Lots of “Gus Black SIT DOWN and WAIT!” Got him home, put him in the back yard for an upcoming bath, grabbed my REAL jogging stroller, reloaded EB and hiked it BACK up Big Bertha…God’s Hill….etc. I.was.SLAP.worn.out. To say the gluts were sore the next day is a WILD understatement. Let me show you my path (the dotted path is the beast of the hill..like, it is was a ski slope, hands down, it would be a black. The purple square is my house. The pink "x" is atop the hill):
That story, of course, has lost its steam with me, but oh wow….. oh the words flying out of my mouth in my brain….
Before “Gus Gone Wild” I did capture some sweeter moments:

Chariots of Fire, anyone?

Glad SOMEONE loved on him that day...

AND...we were DONE!

Kelly's Kids trunk show
If tonight is crazy for you, but you’d like to place an order, we can do that as well. Just let me know.
Here is EB last summer sporting her KK’s attire. I will say, I’m a hesitant catalogue purchaser, but this brand washes and holds up SO well. Since my child is on the larger side of life, I don’t dry her clothes, but every time I washed it and hung it up to dry, it looked the same way it did the day I pulled it out of the package.

My Oh MY!! This was just 8 short months ago... What a baby!

Mobile Monday
So, for her maiden voyage…. Happy Valentine’s Day!
Here is my little Valentine (although she was VERY adamant that, ‘no, I daddy’s Valentime.’ Whatever). Doesn’t she looked bright-eyed…. Ohhh, that’s because she was up and WIDE awake at 2 a.m.
AND…. I didn’t believe this was true, so I made a mad dash on Friday afternoon to see for myself.‘Tis true… ‘tis delicious.
Compliments of my bigger Valentine, who got up at the crack, EB's teachers now get to enjoy these little marvels.

Potty Training 101

Me: Why did you wet your pull-up? You can't wear big girl panties if you don't tell mommy you have to go potty.
EB: Ohhh man! Do I have to?

EB-ism
Friday evening during an INTENSE session of “Mr. Potato Head” playing, we had the following discussion:
ME: You just gave him two noses, silly.
EB: I did not. That’s not two noses.
ME: Oh, if it isn’t two noses, what is that?
(I promise you on my whole wide life the next line is what my ears heard and I’m REAL sure is what fell from the lips of a babe)
EB: That’s a bra…..
I have NO idea…. I gasped for air from laughing so hard and immediately snapped a photo and sent it to her daddy, who was working, with a short and simple explanation, “She says this is a bra….”
Photo evidence:

OR..... maybe that was just a sign of how she felt and what our weekend would become as we all fell victim to her crud. And, honestly, I kinda feel like this is a self portrait today..."bra" and all.

A tradition
I have NO idea how long they’ve been taking me, but it seems close to forever. Even though last year was EB’s first time to be included, this year was REALLY her first time. Does that make sense? Of course not. She got it this year. Mezmerized.
In a timely manner, her school focused on the circus all week long. So, to say she was geared up by Saturday would be a slight understatement. Evidently each age class did a “circus parade” throughout the week because she could NOT wait for the “parade” at the real circus?! I hope it met her expectations because I’m still a little confused as to what exactly that means.
Evie is a HUGE fan of elephants (as every good Bama girl should be). So, that’s a given. However, she told me she was scared of clowns and was very worried they would be at the circus.
Well…..hmmm. Afterwards, she had the following account of her experience:Me: EB, what was your MOST favorite thing?
EB: THE CLOWNS! They were so funny.
Me: Really? Wow. What about the elephants?
EB: They are too big.

And, then, she put on a show of her own....
To be continued…
