It's Friday...
Our lives have been CRAZY for the past month. Absolutely crazy. I let this season slip right by after I made a commitment to not let it happen. Evie is at such a precious, impressionable age and I let our lives get too busy, too full and too chaotic. I’ve been convicted about that this week. So, I was reminded of this…… It’s almost four minutes long, but the message is so powerful and such a wonderful reminder of what this weekend means to me.

When you're three
You take things for what they really mean, right?
Me: EB, what’s going on? Is your stomach upset?
EB: Yes, it is. It cried and cried all night long.
I have no idea what that means….but it WAS pretty upset.

15
I want to document this for myself, so… pardon the sweaty, grumpy, “do I have to” pictures. Based on my size with EB, this may come to a screeching halt VERY quickly. Kidding, I’ll try not to be that vain.
We are in the middle of week 15. I’m in between ultrasounds and I HATE this span because I’m a rather LARGE worrier. So, therefore, I worry. For no reason, mind you. Everything is great. I feel great. No problemos, all is well. April 12th will be a big day in our house. We'll get an ultrasound, alright…. Boy or girl will be revealed. EB’s wish list changes daily. I hope her wishes and the gender line up appropriately on said date. Of course, anything will be perfect and we do not care. We have family names on standby, so time will tell.
So, my helper and I started a little trend. Here we are… Tired, sweaty, helmet hair, gross and mad that it was bath time in all of our 15 week glory!

Red cheeks
I meant that title for what it really is. PROMISE. Also, thank you so much for all the sweet comments on the last post. We are very excited and feel overwhelmingly blessed.
So, Birmingham has been REALLY warm this week-In fact, borderline hot. We got home early one afternoon and enjoyed some bike riding and swing swinging.
All of that produced the first rosy cheeks of the year. I can’t believe I’m wishing for summer, but we are READY. Long, warm days…YES PLEASE!!

Text 4 JB
While we’re divulging information…
Back in January, I had a sneaking suspicion. I do what you do when you have such…and voila..CONFIRMATION.
I rallied my little troop and right as JB walked in the door, I texted him the following picture that read, “You’re in trouble now.”
We are excited. Most importantly, we feel very blessed to be given another little life in our family. EB thinks she is excited…time will tell in September.
This weekend I’ll roll into the second trimester and I welcome it with VERY open arms. I cannot complain and have really felt great, but not as great as I did with EB. It’s all good. I’ll take it, for the reward is quite great, amen?!
Now, you are OFFICIALLY up to speed on House of Blacks. You’re welcome.

Head ‘em up, move ‘em out...
We are officially homeless.
We live amongst blank walls, boxes and disarray, but it’s ALL good.

If a squash can make you laugh
Hey faithful readers- party of 2 or 3. I’m sorry for my distance. We’ll catch up one of these days.
Last night the Veggies Tales were in Birmingham. We hit them up and spent our entire (literally) evening with them. EB thought she had died and gone to heaven, I was heavily sedated on sinus medicine and JB just took it all in---and, it was a lot to take in.
Since this was EB’s first real concert and we wanted her to soak it all (or because we had a weak moment and it was late at night when I purchased the tickets), we opted for the VIP tickets with a meet and greet. Ever met a 7ft tall cucumber? Neither had we. It was all well and good, but we had to wait a LONG time (for the 'not real' stage veggies) and I was ill-equipped with snacks and we were HUNGRY (not a good spot to be in if you’re a veggie. I started having horrible mental images).
It was a good time. We thoroughly enjoyed that moment with EB and I might have enjoyed singing along with the songs that I knew. AND…she needed that moment with the Veggies after cold staring JB earlier in the weekend and telling him in response to a comment he made, “Well, that’s the stupidest thing I’ve EVER heard.” Thanks Lion King.
