Is it May?

Remember when I used to blog? Those were good times. Things were documented. I have wonderful memories to go back to..... Poor JBB, in the mind of this blog, is still a newborn. Well... He has grown...

We had a six month birthday, a double ear infection, round two of meds for said infection, I was sicker than I've been since college with a mystery virus,  Easter happened, we turned seven months, EB grew like 67 inches and a third round of meds for said double ear infection, celebrated seven fast years with JB, had a little pink eye fun and that was our month(s) in fast forward.

 Been a FUN last month.

My porker is almost 22 lbs., has two teeth, is slowly crawling and is the sweetest thing I've ever seen, but only says "dadadada." I'm not too bitter because if I leave his sight alllllll hell breaks loose. It warms my heart in a twisted way.

EB... Geeez! Where does time go? She's such a little girl.

She's so independent, a wonderful big sister and acts 13. I enrolled her in her last year at "school" beginning in August. I cried. Buckets. The very thought of her being old enough to leave the comforts of her daycare and the teachers that have loved her makes me physically sick to my stomach (not to mention the two block drive down the street). However, they have prepared her so so well and I look forward to watching her move on- I think... Through teary eyes. I am THAT person. It's terrible. BUT...for now, we'll enjoy one more year and love EVERY moment before big school.

Weigh in

Blast! I’ve let almost another month go by. I had such great intentions.

Since I last updated, we went in for JBB’s “4” month appointment and EB’s “4” year checkup. I say it like that because we were just a month or so behind. So, for the sake of 4 5 month stats and chair pic:
Here’s the precious man-child. Weighing in at 18 lbs and 10 ounces. Of course, 3 weeks have gone by and I swear he weighs a good 42lbs. He’s so happy. Bless his sweet self, he’s the happiest baby I’ve ever been around. He goes to bed laughing and wakes up laughing- he’s just infectious and contagious.

As for this girl, I went to check on her the other night before I went to bed. I gasped as I walked into her room…and promptly sat on the edge of her bed and cried.
She has turned into a little girl. We have lost all of the lingering baby/toddler details on her face, arms, hands, etc. Her look has changed so much in the last year. She has just really shaped into a little girl almost overnight. While the two of us go toe-to-toe more than I care to admit, it’s exciting to experience life through her curious little self. Sometimes it’s scary… I often need a script so I can answer her questions “appropriately.” Whew. I’m real sure I didn’t ask the questions she asks until I was maybe 10…better yet… 16. However, she is HILARIOUS. Truly. She has a true gift of quick wit. Of course, sprinkled with a “lovely” dose of sass creates a recipe to make you want to pull your hair out and/or double over in laughter.

Chair pic recap

While we’re catching up… I’m behind on chair pics. Sit back while we watch what four months can do to a “little guy.”

His first day home…in his chair.
1 month
2 months
3 months
And..well..manhood.. I mean, 4 months. We grow ‘em big at House of Blacks. This boy is hungry.

I know the quality stinks. Noted. I'm trying to do better with pulling out my big camera. Until then... it is what it is. Also, it's picture day at school...
He's pure joy... every single day.

Welcome back

Well.... Hello?
My name is Holly?
Where do I begin?
I'm sorry?
I do not deserve to have a blog.

I have one faithful reader left and that is all. I'll try really hard to do better. I need to do better because I have a sweet little happy happy, fat baby boy who deserves some face time on the blog. Then, there's this young lady who has turned 4 and has grown up before our eyes in the last few months. So.... It is time.

Having two hasn't been nearly the adjustment I had prepared myself for. Going back to work with some new tasks, plus two babes, has been the hiccup. There just simply isn't time in the day. That sounds dramatic, but it's the truth. But... It's all good. We're adjusting.

So, getting everything up to speed, I have a four year old and an almost 5 month old. Yikes. One of them is tall and thin, while the other is FAT and happy. Just perfect. One never cries. For real... never cries. Yet, the other needs to go ahead and prepare an acceptance speech for an Academy Award. One coo's and cracks himself up. The other? She is sasssssssy and cracks US up and doesn't bat an eye.

There is rarely a dull moment.... And just sometimes 8:30 p.m. is a welcomed hour when all is peaceful.

Way back when, Santa came to our house. This was THE year JB had been waiting for since 2008. The anticipation. The excitement. The sleepless hours waiting for Santa. This was the year. She woke us up at 2:30 a.m. to tell us Santa had indeed dropped off a few goodies to which we replied, "If you don't get back in your bed, he'll come back and take those toys.... And, while you're on your way, take your flashlight back upstairs with you!" Santa had a long night. Bah Humbug!!

Everyone is happy. Life is good and full.

Skele-bee

We’re still a bit young for Halloween at our house. The excitement for the day is often more fun than the actual “doing.”
EB, be it a long day at school or just too young, was a little lost on the notion of knocking on doors, saying “Trick or Treat” and then running to the next house. Have I ever mentioned that she doesn’t eat sweets? So, why would she ask for something she doesn’t even like? Do you catch my drift? She will gag herself if chocolate so much as touches her lips. I mean, who is she? She is NOT my child. I’d eat chocolate breakfast, lunch and dinner if I wasn’t almost 31 and there wasn’t a magnetic force field between my gut and thighs with chocolate. Oh wait… I do eat it WITH most of my meals. Perhaps there lies the problem.

I digress…. So, this “holiday” is a little weird to her. Last year she was in the middle of an asthma attack when we forced her out to knock on doors (we’re kind). This year was going to be our year….FAIL. We lasted 30 min.

Nonetheless, I had an ornery bumble bee and a wee little skeleton on my hands. Approprite? I think so considering the sass of EB and the tee-tininess of JBB. It worked.

So, here’s to Halloween 2012.

Where ya been?

I’m so far behind, but I’m back…. I’M BACK IN ACTION.

So, where does one begin? At the beginning? In the middle? At the present? Sigh. While I try and decide, let me just post…. How about chair pics? Stats? Let’s do that!

We just celebrated a two month birthday last week. This boy… there are no words for his preciousness. He is THE spitting image of his sister and daddy. I promise I played a part…evidently, just the hard part. All I can say for this boy is that he has my dimple, but he’s double “dimped,” so he has JB’s dimple too. Which may sound like it negates my dimple, but his double dimped self will melt the coldest of hearts, I tell ya.

1 month chair picture

At one month, this little nugget weighed about 9-ish lbs. (I’m guessing because he was in between visits and I don’t have an accurate count) He was just starting to smile, and unbeknownst to me, was mere days from sleeping through the night. He’s so itty bitty compared to his sister at this point, but no complaining. He’ll beef up soon enough. Have I mentioned how sweet he is? His little disposition is just…well… deliciously sweet.

2 month chair picture
At two months, JBB weighed 10 lbs and 12 oz. He’s in like the 12th percentile, but in the 70’s for length. He’s so happy all the time. After his two month shots, (consider yourselves warned, new moms… it’s like 5-6 shots depending on your practice) he cried for less than a second and just smiled and smiled. Of course, I wanted to cry, but he was so brave while those teeny legs got stabbed over and over. Just for memory sake, EB got her flu shot while we were there. She called her daddy up so fast to inform him, “My shot was much more hurter than JBB’s.” So… if you’re taking note, one little flu shot is MUCH more “hurter” than five stabs to the thigh…just FYI. However, doughnuts take the “hurter” away. Miraculously.

To help “relieve” the 913 photos on my Iphone, here’s a phone dump too:

Well, that’s a start. I’ll be back.

Dimples

It's a family tradition...
